Scuba

We went scuba diving out of Kona with Kona Honu Dive Shop. This was our first real dive since getting certified. Wow, was it worth it. The first dive went down to 60 feet where we took a tour of the reef. We saw some sea-snakes, and a frog fish amidst the coral. After surfacing, we had dinner and watched a gorgeous sunset from the boat. Then, we got prepared to get back into the water for a night dive with the manta rays. We dropped to 35 feet and just sat on the bottom. There were 15 or so Manta Rays swimming around, eating the plankton that was attracted to the lights. Some were huge - wingspans of almost 20 feet, and they would swoop in just above our heads. This is what diving is all about!
